Crack The Shutters

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Crack the Shutters by Snow Patrol.

Crack the shutters open wide
I want to bathe you in the light of day.
And just watch you as the rays
tangle up around your face and body.
I could sit for hours
finding new ways to be awed each minute.
Cause the daylight seems to want you
just as much as i want you.

song.

I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't post this.

I really love this song, especially the lyrics. The way Meg and Dia sing it, it's perfect. I can barely describe it well, so just give it a listen

"But these things take time love.
These things take backbone.
And theyll tell you what you want to hear
cause they think its better. Better.
But you better know how to point out the liars.
Youve got to weigh your wars make sure youre not fighting for nothing. Nothing.
Are you fighting for nothing, nothing?"

Ke$ha

Saturday, January 2, 2010

(Btw her name is pronounced as cash-sha. Telling the world cause I had some issues in pronouncing it too.)

I've been drowning myself shamelessly in pop, and I fucking love it. I feel kinda dirty and guilty but screw that shit, I love these songs.

Your Love is My Drug. In my opinion, it ties with Blah Blah Blah feat. 3OH!3 as the best tracks off her album.

Her album isn't even physically released yet and I freaking love it.

A lot of people are comparing her with Gaga but seriously? I think they're really different. Gaga's pop is avant garde-ish by being weird in a good way, while Ke$ha's is traditional electropop with less electro and MASSIVE pop.

Having a serious guilty pleasure here, I think I'll leave the shame in another uhh... 1 year?
Until her next album comes out.

pimpin' time.

The year is ending, and I want to do at least one thing right...

NeverShoutNever!

Sunday, November 22, 2009

Been some time since I've been in love with music from just one singer. Nowadays I just listen to random music I come by, no more specific bands or singers or pimping.

But that's going to change very, very soon. :D

Meet Christofer Drew Ingle (and no, not a typo, christopher with a F):

Singer of "NeverShoutNever!", a one-man-band. Think Secondhand Serenade but with far less heartbreak and a serious lot more of happiness, love-spreading and occasional sadness mixed in with hope.

First song I heard of his was Trouble and what can I say?
I absolutely love it. <3

Reminds me so much of a chillax version of Jason Mraz. Since the I'm Yours craze I haven't been keen on listening to him much lately cause I still haven't finished digesting all the "I'm YOUURRRRSSSS" tunes outta my head. =/

And while I still have your attention, please listen to this awesome song called On The Brightside too. =)

And after you're done with that, please go to his myspace/youtube/twitter/website/everything and listen to all those amazing songs please. This guy doesn't even have a full-length album out yet and his song Trouble already has more than 2 million views on Youtube.
Imagine that.

This 18 year old boy wonder and his trusty ukelele can seriously change the world man.
. . .
Seriously.

Fireflies by Owl City

Monday, October 26, 2009

Leave my door open just a crack,
Cause I feel like such an insomniac.

Why do I tire of counting sheep,
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep?

To ten million fireflies-
I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes.
I got misty eyes as they said farewell,
But I'll know where several are,
If my dreams get real bizarre,
Cause I saved a few and I kept them in a jar.

Fireflies by Owl City is so... o___o.
I can't describe it. I just love it.
There's this bit of childishness and sadness inside that makes me so drawn to it.
Adam Young really makes the best music sometimes... =D

And I really like this song too. Vanilla twilight. Really sweet and makes me wanna sleep.

3OH!3

Friday, September 18, 2009

I feel so badass listening to 3OH!3. O__O I think it's cause of their voices.

Well anyways, I love 'em, so I pimp 'em.

My fav song for now is Dance With Me.

And I never noticed how sweet Colorado Sunrise was until I read the lyrics and stuff.

I'm really amazed at 3OH!3's versatility. When I first heard Don't Trust Me I thought they would be just another one hit wonder myspace band since they got this techno-rap-rock thing going on like the other bands at myspace.

...but fate somehow lead Jessie to send me Still Around.

I know it's lame but I found love at first sound. =)

After that I started listening to their other songs and I now love about 80% of all their songs. Some songs I can't get used to cause those just don't suit me. But anyways, it's still love.

And for anyone who's curious, they named themselves 3OH!3 after their hometown area code in Colorado.

So, quick go listen to all their songs. I'm sure at least 50% of them will be worth your time unless you friggin Obama or Hitler and have a country to dictate.

P/S: OMG how did I not notice this version before?! Fuck it's awesome. The beat is more heavy and even though Katy's voice doesn't seem fitting to the song sometimes, the beat is still the best.

Fuck I'm in love with their songs.

Gay love <3

I love gay men and their music.

Sam Sparro

(Link to official vid is here. Stupid record companies don't allow youtube embedding.)

Pure blissful POP. =D Never heard such light music in ages man. All this rap/rock/heavy-techno is making me sick.

And totally random but I think Sam Sparro sounds like a black dude singing mo-town.

Adam Lambert rant

Friday, July 3, 2009

Kris Allen go away. I don't like you. Stop invading the local radios.
I WANT ADAM. ='(

I am absolutely SICK of hitz.fm just playing Kris Allen's version of No Boundaries. Sure Kris is an awesome singer, good looking, etc etc blah blah but I still prefer Adam's version of No Boundaries.

Adam = awesome falsetto.

His voice is the kinda voice you recognize after just hearing it for a second. That distinctive falsetto is totally unbeatable.

So screw you, hitz.

Have I found you?

Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron and Wine

The movie's not exactly my cup of tea or slice of cake, but some of the songs on the movie deserve some applause. This song's just so beautiful. It definitely deserves a good listen.

I was a quick wet boy
Diving too deep for coins
All of your street light eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
And when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map
And called for you everywhere

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big pill looming

Now I'm a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide fence cracks
Pissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, grounded, bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big pill, stuck going down

The song's about the loss of the American Dream. Which I don't really know about since I've been Malaysian my whole life, but I kinda get the idea of losing hope in something you've been dreaming a very long while for.

Bad song choice for Twilight's prom scene. -_- Sigh. But who am I to say really? Without the movie I wouldn't have known about the song. Folk music isn't really my favorite genre.

每当我背对星空...

Lu Guang Zhong. I totally recommend songs that are sung by this guy. Even though he looks like a total otaku with zero fashion sense, his voice and guitar skills are still wow.

This song's kinda calming and happy. I think it's my fave.

And this one is so happy. I wanna wake up to this kinda song.

His singing skills are kinda scary. Even though he's an imitation of Vitas... I still think Vitas looks cuter. If only Vitas would stop with his lame techno/electronica concept costumes...

Kinda rock-ish. But still it's good.

It seems that the story of this guy is, he got hit by a bus and was in critical condition. But then he seemed to have miraculously healed and he picked up playing guitar.
The accident seemed to have left him with crazy musical skills and the inability to wear proper pants and sock and have a decent hair cut. But yeah, his music compensates for the lack of fashion sense.

Clazziquai and ???

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

ba-bump.

Someone has found a new love.
Clazziquai.

A love that puts me to sleep actually. But I don't really mind since I'll get to dream.

Tests are over and I finally get to sleep my ass off as I did usually.

That reminds me, I need to go shopping for birthday presents/crap. I should take up rubix cube-ing to encourage the rotting process of this brain. But the damn cube costs like 20 bucks. 20 bucks to burn your brain.

Sigh. Ca$h.

Well that's it, just a quick update. I'm kinda sleepy now so my brain's attention span is short and I can't think well.

M to the F-L-O

Saturday, March 14, 2009

It's been a guilty pleasure all my life, and I didn't even know it. I love M-Flo.
They make my pulse beat triple-time with the amazing sounds they chuck out.

To get some free and fast downloads of their songs to get a demo of what I'm feeling, please click here.

Didn't really notice it but when I rummaged through my bro's old stash of Play Station cd's, M-Flo was on one of them DDR games. So I've actually been listening to them unintentionally since I was like what... 6 years old?

After 10 years, they still amazingly come out with great rhythms and beats.

Nothing could make me happier than fuss-free songs in another language I don't really understand at all.

Talk to Me by George

Wtf is this guy not famous yet?! His album came out more than a year ago!
He's got a pretty nice voice, looks okay (actually more than okay. *points towards abs*), and his songs are pretty good.

So wtf isn't he famous yet?

And yes I have a way to tell if he's famous or not.

Not much info. AT ALL. And there isn't a different page for the discography.

Hmm. He needs more pimpin'.

(And another great song.)
